"JUNE VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH"

KATHY MERRILL

The Volunteer Center of Pinal County is pleased to honor Kathy Merrill, the June Volunteer of the Month. She has been an Arizona resident since the mid 80’s and has lived in Apache Junction since 1995 and has been volunteering her time at the Salvation Army in Apache Junction since December 2007.

Kathy is very dedicated to her work at the Salvation Army working three days a week, eight hours a day. She puts together food boxes for residents in need, keeps the food pantry clean and organized and takes charge of the weekly bread delivery from the local bakery. Kathy is better known around here as the “bread lady”. She is extremely dependable and even comes in to help when she is not feeling well. Not only does Kathy help with the food pantry, inventory, cleaning and organizing, she also keeps the garden trimmed and free of weeds. She takes time to nurture and fertilize the garden on a regular basis—her efforts and attention to the garden result in bright and colorful flowers that can be enjoyed by all who visit the facility. Remember to take time to smell the roses….

Thank you, Kathy for all that you do to bring that special feeling to those around you at the Salvation Army of Apache Junction.
